I stayed here for 5 nights. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was small, but comfortable and clean. It was more than adequate for my needs. The staff at the motel were really kind and polite. Food at the Motel was not the best I've had, but it was tasty, filling and fairly priced. There is a bar which is nice to use on the hot summer days. Jane, Alex and all the other girls made my stay.....they are all winners.
Unique. Hearty home made food. Highly recommended diversion from the A1 or M1 to avoid motorway service fodder.
Haven't been since I was a kid, but primarily wanted to come for a sweet/dessert as I remember always having some of my parents which they got free with their meal and used to eat all their custard. Had chocolate cake and custard and it was like I was a kid again, it hasn't changed and I'm gutted it's closing.
What can you say about the Redbeck Motel? It's a Wakefield institution, loved and fondly remembered by many. I always remember two things: a) the cappuccinos, which tasted like those cappuccino chocolates you get at Thorntons and where the perfect pick-me-up if you were feeling a bit delicate, and b) the fact it had no lock on the front doors, because it was always open and never needed on. It's a shame to see it go, but the memories will always be there!
